Want to be your best self? Start by looking inward, gaining self-mastery and independence and then focus on understanding and teaming up with others. Do that, while taking care of your most important asset — yourself, and there’s the recipe for lasting success.
Educator and businessman Stephen Covey launched a sensation in 1989 with The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Since its publication that year, the book has sold more than 20 million copies and been hailed by CEOs, self-help gurus, and thought leaders as one of the most influential works ever written. Covey — who was also the co-founder of FranklinCovey, a training and consulting firm that helps individuals and organizations create transformative change worldwide — was named one of Time magazine’s 25 most influential people of the 20th Century in 1996. He died in 2012 at age 79.
